What is Tile & Slate Roofing?
Tile and slate roofing represents the traditional approach to pitched roof construction — individual overlapping units creating a weatherproof barrier that’s stood the test of time for centuries. Unlike flat roofing systems, pitched roofs use the natural force of gravity and overlapping layers to shed water quickly and efficiently.
We work with all common pitched roofing materials across Norfolk: concrete tiles, clay tiles, natural slate, and artificial slate. Whether you need a complete reroof, storm damage repairs, or maintenance work on ridge tiles and lead valleys, our team has the expertise to deliver lasting results.
Tile and slate work requires a different skill set from flat roofing — it’s all about precision, proper overlap, correct nailing patterns, and ensuring the roof breathes properly while remaining watertight. Our operatives are trained in traditional techniques as well as modern Building Regulations requirements.

Grove Road, Hethersett
Added: 25 February 26This Hethersett bungalow had a 65-year-old tile roof with cracked tiles, non-breathable felt, and widespread condensation causing ceiling damage and timber rot throughout the structure. We stripped back to the rafters, replaced all rotten timber, installed a breathable membrane system, re-tiled with new concrete tiles, and replaced all fascias and soffits with maintenance-free UPVC roofline. The property is now fully weatherproof, backed by a 10-year workmanship guarantee, with condensation problems eliminated for decades to come.

Wellesley Avenue, Thorpe
Added: 11 June 26This property required a complete roof replacement — the original roof had never been touched since the house was first built. We stripped everything back and rebuilt it properly: new breathable membrane, new treated roofing battens, and new plain clay tiles throughout. The dormer received a full EPDM flat roof replacement alongside new uPVC cladding, bringing every element of the roof up to modern standard in a single visit.

Full Roof Replacement, Caister Lane, Poringland
Added: 22 July 26Complete roof strip and re-roof on this property in Caister Lane, Poringland. The existing tiles had reached the end of their service life, with widespread moss growth and weathering. We stripped the roof back completely and installed a new clay pan tile roof, using traditional cement work at the ridge and verges to keep the finish in keeping with the character of the building.
